Annacone Tennis Academy Tucson

Tennis Academy Program Overview

Annacone Tennis Academy Tucson (ATAT) is designed to develop recreational and competitive youth tennis players of all levels. ATAT’s goal is to enable players to reach their full potential-from first-timers who want to learn the basics of the game to players who aspire to compete in Division 1 collegiate and professional tennis.

ATAT will be offered at multiple facilities (satellite sites) and will be standardized (methods and organization). Adjustments can be made according to each individual facility’s needs.

Each ATAT Facility Director will organize, staff, and lead the daily operations and activities. All ATAT Directors will communicate and report to Steve Annacone, ATAT Tennis Director.

Annacone has over 30 years of experience coaching and developing youth players including his role as Owner and Director of Smoky Mountain Tennis Academy in Knoxville, Tennessee, from 1996 to 2015. In addition, he has managed over 20 tennis facilities in the U.S. Annacone will oversee and actively participate in the program at all facilities using methods and techniques that have been proven successful.

ATAT Youth Tennis Program

Dear Parents and Players,

I have recently moved to the Tucson area and am excited to offer this tennis project to the Tucson community. My idea is to attract new players and develop a large feeder system for the higher levels to increase the number of juniors as well as helping the best players reach even higher goals. This would be done by partnering with select facilities and working in coordination to provide a path for the players to really excel. The outcome would be more total players, more sectionally ranked players, more nationally ranked players, more collegiate players, and hopefully more aspiring ATP and WTA Tour players.

Based on my communications with many of the managers, pros, tennis directors, and avid tennis players in Tucson, there is definitely an opportunity to raise the bar for the Junior Tennis programs in the area. The expertise that the ATAT professionals possess give this program a jump-start and a great chance for all of us to do something that has a big impact on the community. My 19 years of experience as director and owner of Smoky Mountain Tennis Academy has motivated me to do something similar in Tucson, but on a bigger scale and with more teamwork and cooperation from the tennis professionals, tennis facilities, and everyone involved.

The program will start with multiple free instructional mini-camps for any child interested in learning how to play tennis. Most of these players will be new or very beginner. The players will attend the session, we will collect contact information, and follow up with a pathway through the facility that provided the initial instruction. We are in the process of starting the initial phase of the program. If you would like more information or have any questions, please contact me at sannacone@aol.com or 865-300-7323.
